About the Committee

The United Nations Security Council is tasked with maintaining international peace and security. Delegates represent member states, debating and addressing critical global issues such as armed conflicts, threats to international stability, and acts of aggression. The committee works to pass binding resolutions that may include sanctions, peacekeeping operations, or authorizations of military action. Participants engage in high-level diplomacy, negotiation, and crisis management, striving to find consensus or secure the required majority to take decisive action. The UNSC challenges delegates to think strategically, respond to urgent situations, and propose solutions that uphold international peace and security.
